Fauna is the journal of the Norwegian Zoological Society. It accepts articles, short notes and other contributions from all people interested in zoology. The journal is issued quarterly and is sent to all members and subscribers (including members and libraries abroad). The first issue was printed in 1948, and the journal has since supplied amateur as well as professional readers with updated information on all aspects of the Norwegian fauna. The journal has a popularized profile emphasizing readability for all types of members as well as scientific quality.

The journal is in Norwegian, but all main papers have English summaries. It is printed in 1700 copies.

Fauna is indexed in Zoological Records and Biological Abstracts.
